I have now faced my worst fear....
Where:  Loma Linda Community Medical Center (part of Loma Linda University Medical Center), Loma Linda, CA

When:  High noon, November 8th, 2001

What kind of surgery:  Two plastic surgery procedures to be done at the same time - abdominoplasty, medial thigh lift with liposuction.

Length of surgery:  Approximately 7 hours

Why:  To correct deformity caused by extreme weight gain and loss.

Other facts:  I had to "set aside" 2 units of my own blood in the  event I might have needed it during the operation.
AND THE WINNER IS:
In this corner: me
In that corner: a phobia that has ruled my life for 25 years (not any more!)
I made it!  I have survived my ultimate nightmare and have yet to succumb to my phobia.  Yes, I have scored the "knock out" punch!
